In February 2023, Ukraine lost its domestic sources of salt production, becoming fully dependent on imports. This created significant risks for Ukrainian consumers and manufacturers of food and technical products, while also depriving the population of access to a reliable and safe local supply of salt.
Specialists at the Salt Plant studied European practices (Germany, Spain, France) and developed their own engineering solutions to automate the salt purification and quality control process.
This led to the creation of the “Salt UA” brand — Ukraine’s first high-tech enterprise dedicated to deep purification and adaptation of salt to international standards.

It all starts with raw salt being fed into the production line. It is placed on a special conveyor belt, where it is evenly distributed and checked in the laboratory for foreign impurities.
Magnetic separators automatically remove metal particles if they are found in the raw material.
Salt purification takes place in several stages:
We put the washed salt into centrifuges, which carefully remove excess moisture. Next, it is dried in special equipment with a “boiling layer,” which ensures uniform drying of each crystal and prevents the product from caking.
At the same time, the air is cleaned of dust using filters and cyclones.
We separate dried salt according to particle size. Crystals that are too large are crushed and rechecked. This approach allows us to obtain the exact grind required for various industries, from food to technical.
